Einleitung: Das Emergence Delirium (ED) ist eine wichtige Komplikation nach Allgemeinanästhesie bei Kindern. Angaben zu Häufigkeit, prädiktiven und protektiven Faktoren sowie zur Therapie des EDs unterscheiden sich teilweise erheblich. In dieser Arbeit wurden mithilfe der großen Patientenzahl in einem Universitätsklinikum ebendiese Punkte untersucht, um ein besseres Verständnis dieser bedeutsamen Komplikation zu erlangen. Methodik: Die Arbeit wurde als prospektive Beobachtungsstudie durchgeführt. Eingeschlossen wurden Patienten im Alter von 0 bis 14 Jahren, die im Kinderaufwachraum der Charité Campus Virchow-Klinikum behandelt wurden.
